Only been once, with work, about 17 years ago, stayed in Velletta. Great night life down the main cobbled street and unbelievably good looking women. Olive skinned, blue-eyed, Anglo-Mediterranean stunners.

    That is all

Nice town, visit The Pub, where Oliver Reed had his last drink. Markets are nice for a walk around too.

yep... been there 3 times now... :)

you can get a cheap weekly bus pass - tho, used to be arriva last year - but prices still remain low at ~6 euros for 7 days... you can travel all around malta except for gozo or the night buses... buy this from the stand at the airport - and get a bus map too. in fact get a few - as they're hard to get from this point onwards... we always had 2-3 copies...

    there's no trains...

most buses will tend to go via valetta anyway...

my fave places? - in no real order - st julians (stayed there a few times) - sliema, mosta, mdina... (may come back to this!)
not st pauls bay - it's where the brits tend to go... :(

it's very friendly and we felt no threat at all - where ever we went... people will stop and chat to you - especially in smaller areas

food is cheap - and we snacked in the various bakeries dotted around where you can get pizz a slices etc... likewise - the local red wine is nice and cheap...

there is a coupld of nice cafe's (forget their names haha - but the first one is where you walk straight down the main drag from valleta bus station - it's on the lefthand side and is partly exposed - nice for a cuppa and a slice of cake... likwise there's another one further down...damn... forget the name - but it's near a church / square...

this place is supposed to be very good - but it was closed the day we went -
Nenu the Artisan Baker, Valletta Malta

there are lots of roaming moggies around - and on the border between valetta and floriana - there is a cat feeding station - and one woman who I spoke to said somethimes there's around 100 cats there - there are loats of feeding stations dotted aroind quiet areas where people drop off food and water etc - hard to explain where this is - as it's on some stairs that lead to the harbour from that I recall...

and as mentioned above wear sunglasses - some of the women are stunning...skin like honey... :)

you can get some ferry tours locally - we did one around valetta etc - mos seem to go from sliema - but there's a tourist info in valetta - as you walk down from the bus station in valleta it's signposted... tho, the tourist info isn't that great really... just grab some leaflets... :) but if you're in a decent hotel - then you can get a free bus that collects you - and a tourist info in there too (tho, this maybe only the bigger hotels)

valetta is quiet in the evenings tho - it's not really a tourist spot as such...

that's all I can think of - but if you have any specific questions - just ask... :)
