Making your own Interconnects/Cables

After reading a link i found on an overclockers site about making your own custom cables. Just wondered if anyone has done it, do they get the same quality as high end purchased cables for a fraction of the cost?

Yes. They are excellent and are the sort of product used in the pro audio industry all over, where you simply won't find consumer 'high end' audio cables.

The prices in that article are quite a bit off though - the parts they list are much more expensive than they suggest (admittedly the article is 2 years old).

That does sound convincing as i need to run them over an odd distance and making my own will allow them to be just write, take it from that you have had experience of making your own?
