Many moons ago when I was decorating my living room (before installing my Solid Oak Floor) as well as all the usual CAT5e cabling, CT100 and thought it would be a cool idea to install some very, very buget speaker cable (79 Strand) incase I ever get surround sound.

That day has come, the surround speakers are OK but I didn't think on a Subwoofer needing a Phono cable. Is it possible to use speaker cable to wire a Phono lead.

I can appreciate this is not ideal, but I need to keep my girlfriend happy and move the Subwoofer behind the sofa. I only installed spare speaker cable, can I use this for a Phono connection?

    cheers

Not recommended - it is likely to pick up interference or mains hum.

Thanks Nick, I was desperate so soldered some ends on and its fine. Not ideal but I'll remember that the next time I move.
