    Here's an idea:-

Buy a very good car sub, say £300 (Rockford F, Soundstream etc) a decent Mono Block amp 200-300RMS £500 and build the bass out of MDF.

Is this possible to have an top notch sub for home cinema??

I just had a look inside a REL100, the 12" driver is crap, the amp build terrible and yet it sounds great. The inside is square and has some soft material. If I could find another sub that use's the same cab size I could run the speaker on a more powerful external amp??

    Any comments
