Ive got a 17" Packard bell laptop with insurance from PC World and now all of a sudden the screen doesnt want to turn on.

I can see the lights as normal turning on aswell as hear the laptop boot up but the screen remains black
Ive tried linking a HDMI cable to my tv but this doesnt show anything either, 'check cable connection' shows on the tv

The only thing i havent tried yet is a VGA cable

For some reason and somehow it started working yesterday but i have no idea why i didnt save all my information from the laptop as i thought the problem has been sorted

All i want to do is save all my files i can then take the laptop to the store and get them to check this

I also want to get a new laptop as a backup but ill start another thread about this, 1 problem first i guess

    Any help please guys

    Cheers

Sorry, I meant take out your hard drive and put it in another laptop which can then remove the information from it, then put the hard drive back in and then go and get it checked

Ok but with this laptop there are 2 hard drives in it, 1 for windows and the other i was using for all the files.

Ive put the both drives in a enclosure but cant access the drive with the files on it even though i change the permissions on it.

Still keeps on saying no permission or something like that

In that case how do you know there are still files on it?, could have both a damaged hard drive and a messed up screen

Basically ive already got a hard drive enclosure so i can take both drive out of the laptop and put them into the the SATA case, connect that up to another laptop via usb.

Ive changed the permissions on the main drive which has the folders such as windows, users etc... And managed to get files off for the rest of the family

BUT the 2nd drive which just has my files on it such as docs, pics and vids.

Now everytime i try to access that drive it says -

E: is not accessible, Access is denied
