Is there such a thing as 'screened' mains cable ?

I cannot run two separate cable runs to the panny going on the wall ... is it better to have the mains cable next to the speaker cables or the component video cables ...?

    hence the screened question ?

Take a peek into the DIY forum. There 's a lot of discussion on screen cables at the moment, a kinda power buy is going on for bits.

Mains cables shouldn't give much interference as the Live and Neutral is carrying the same current but in opposite directions - and will generally cancel out the EMI from each core. Problems with mains interfence get progressively worse as the Live/Neutral separation gets larger.
However, it's best for you to run your mains cable with the speaker cables, as any mains induced current in the speaker wire will have a negligable effect.

    Regards

Have a dummy run before you put the cables into the wall, see how close they can go and which it has most affect on.

doesnt matter if your power cable isnt screened....your rgb/svideo/component cables should be so if it's going in the wall then your other cables will keep out any interference from the power cable (if much at all) :)
