As an Electrical Engineer I suggest a big kettle cable. Buy the plugs at B&Q or Maplin, plus 6m of 13A cable and make it up.

However Electrical Engineers always end up on one side of the (polarised) cable debate...we are almost all unbelievers.

Forgive me hamster - but could you explain that a bit better to a numpty like me?
Never gave mains cables much thought - just added them to the "money for nothing" list.
If youre saying they DO make a difference and I could make something up as cheaply as you say - could you elaborate a bit for me.

Thanks.

I think hamster is saying that they don't make a difference...
