Sorry if this sounds a dumb question!!

What does magnetically shielded mean and do you actually need it. I'm looking for speakers for a cinema room.

The reason I ask is Just about every set of speakers I looked at said they were magnetically shielded, but the speakers I liked the look of and were in my price range were TDL studio 10's from RS. These speakers don't appear to be magnetically shielded, does it matter?
    Thanks in advance

    Bhoy

P.S. Does anyone own the Studio 10's, could you tell me how they perform.

If they are going to be close to your TV it will matter.

Without magnetic shielding they will affect the picture, with magnetic shielding you should be able to place them close to picture without problem.

Unless you're using a Plasma or LCD in which case you don't need them magnetically shielded.
