This is not strictly a speaker question as my question is about possible magnetic interference from other hi-fi/av components, but it's this part of the forum where shielding gets discussed the most so i thought i'd post it here.

Basically, is there a chance of interference from hi-fi/av components other than speakers if placed too close to a CRT TV? I don't have a great deal of room and have more black and silver boxes than you can shake a stick at, nothing too esoteric, just your usual budget stuff. Does anyone know if any pose a potential interference risk?

    Thanks.

Shouldn't be a problem when they're powered up as they have to conform to regulations that prevent substantial leakage of EM. With the power off, however, it may be a different story (standby would be fine).
