I am looking at two screens - one by Oray made of Magnesium Oxide, and the other by Beamaxed which is made of Matt Emulsion.

Is the Oray one likely to be worth the extra money?

Are you sure they're actually made of those two compnents? Mag' oxide is the reference for screen gain, and matt white paint can be pretty close to it. I've not seen Beamaxed advertise their screens as painted though.
