Question Magic remote pairing

I have tried all the commands from the manual to disconnect/reconnect the magic remote on my C8, the basic remote works but the cursor is not visible on screen, tried shaking the controller right to left but not having any joy.

We also have the latest firmware installed. Any tips?

Start T.V press home and back for five seconds then press select to reconnect. It seems to work but the on s s rn cursor is not visible. It also reports the remote pairing failed.
