Magic Eye Help

Hi got sky + downstairs and multi room sky uostairs got magic eye set up and can get image with perfect pic and colour BUT cant get the remote to change channels upstairs through the magic eye. im using the same sky + remote as downstairs? is there any issue with the signal from remote getting weaker the longer the run of cable???
