I have read somewhere ( forget where ) that they were working on these titles because Mad Max: Fury Road was supposed to be coming out this year and then the production offices closed ( Mel obviously decided after The Passion was a huge hit to not do the film or at the last moment decided the script sucked ) anyways i think there is a good chance they're be remastering all their past hits for the new High Definition formats so expect a normal dvd release before the high definition one and probably within the year to a year and a half.

The Region 1 version is excellent, but for AV quality the Aussie Region 4 is the best, with a full bitrate DTS track, which is sweet!

I'm astounded that they release a Mad Max Special edition & then theres nothing from Mad max 2? I absolutely love Mad Max 1 & 2 & I'd love to see an uncut release of it, as I think the current US release in cut? :suicide:

I assume the R1 version isn't the 'American dubbed' version, which should be AVOIDED at all costs.

    Hi,

If my memory serves, the UK R2 version of "Mad Max", has both the American Dubbes soundtrack, AND the original Australian track as well.

However, it would be nice to see both MM1 and MM2 get decent double-disc releases, especially as a) they're both such great action films, and b) have only been given such pants releases from Warners!

an uncut Mad Max 2 would be nice. I remember somewhere got it uncut (probably Japan, I think maybe France too) along with the nice brain shots and whatever when the boomerang gets removed from that guys head, but it's not been out in that form on dvd anywhere as far as I know.

The region 2 Mad Max is just pants. R4 or R1 special editions are def the way to go
