I was just browsing through a catalogue that came with the daily mail and saw this Macro Master will this actually help the picture quality though a projector or is this just a gimmick?

    Cheers

Thanks for the reply, but it does say that it improves the picture when viewing on large screens, that sounds like it does more than just disabling macrovision. Any other thoughts?

Some people tend to think that Macrovision does something to the picture. Can't say that I have noticed any change between a player with or without macrovision.

Only way to find out if it's any good is to buy it and try it out for yourself, but I tend to think it's just another con to get your money.

Always slightly worried when there are no real pictures of the item.

MacroVision can cause a problem if you have only one SCART on the TV, so your DVD player is routed through the VCR then onto the telly. If this cable disables macrovision then it might be just the gadget for you.

The correct device to remove sync jitter caused by Macrovision is a Frame Store Time Base Corrector, but the cost a little more than £29.99

Personally, I think the real hook is
"An impressive side benefit is that it allows you to make crystal-clear copies of DVD’s." Followed by the the big bold - You mustn't copy... blah, blah, blah - warning.

Can't think who might possibly want to copy DVDs, can you?;)

    Regards
