    Hi there,

I'm selling my Apple Macbook Pro Retina simply because it is too much firepower for what is essentially an iTunes and photo library.

    Spec is as follows:

Macbook Pro Retina - Mid 2014
2.8 GHz Intel Core i5 (Next step up is an i7)
    8GB RAM
    512GB SSD
    Intel Iris Graphics (1536MB)

It is out of warranty with Apple, however seeing as I purchased this from John Lewis in September 2014, it came with a Three year warranty taking it to September 2017! I have the order confirmation and warranty confirmation email for reference.

It comes boxed with charger and is almost immaculate. Unfortunately, the only blemish on the unit is a scratch on the bottom of the unit which I have to be honest and say I have no idea how it got there. It is detailed in the pictures. The battery has also only had 25 charge cycles on it as well.

Based on the above and that it cost £1400 at point of purchase, I think I'm very fair in asking for £850. No offers for now please as this is a very fair price. Please note that the absolute earliest I can get this sent out is w/c Monday 8th February as I am expecting the (lower spec) replacement for this laptop sometime this week. In an ideal world, I'd like this to be collected or at least if the buyer is within 50 miles, I'm happy to deliver myself as that will be cheaper than using a courier given the amount of insurance I would need to take out.

    Any questions, please ask.

NEW PRICE - £800 inc delivery.

    Price and currency: £800
    Delivery: Delivery cost is included
    Payment method: BT/PPG/In Person
    Location: Staines
    Advertised elsewhere?: Advertised elsewhere
Prefer goods collected?: I have no preference

Hi there, thanks for the reply. I've already sourced a replacement I'm afraid and an i7 Is way overkill for what I'd be using it for.

    Thanks anyway.

I know you said no offers, but could offer £800 if you would deliver to North London (definitely less than 50 miles away - LOL) and happy to wait until the week after next.

I'm a trusted trader, there'd be no mucking about and you could sleep sound in the knowledge it's sorted.

    Go on, how about it?!

    Hi there,

Sorry, it's too early to be accepting offers. I'd close the deal at £850 and I'd deliver it personally next Sunday though.

Hey! Would you consider posting it/do you have an estimate for how much it'll cost to send? By any chance are you heading upto the Lincoln area at any point? :rotfl:

Hi there, it seems that for UK mainland deliveries, the cost is anywhere between £28 (Royal Mail) and £70 (Courier). This is largely down to insuring it for the full value.

£28 is half a tank of fuel for me so I'd give consideration to making the trip up for it. It's a 3 hour round trip so I'd look to get it done quite early on a weekend day that suited.

**Note to other buyers - this is the limit of what I'd be prepared to travel. Any further and I will have to use Royal Mail.

If you don't mind could you please post some battery health information via coconutBattery

How long does the battery last on a full charge?

    Thanks.

Hi there, it'll be tonight that I can do that if its ok as I'm at work.

Charge-wise it gives quite a lot of usage as long as various elements are taking into consideration (screen brightness, keyboard light etc). I'll try and get an idea of it tonight as well.

Thanks @m1stergeorge. That is fine. I will check back later tonight or tomorrow morning. I am familiar with Staines as have driven past it when going to Kingston so will bear that in mind.

Hi @superted69 I've attached the battery info from CoconutBattery as requested, please let me know if there is anything else you need. I'm leaving it on battery to run now and based on 75% brightness and general web browsing, it reckons there is a stonking 7+ hours battery life left. Please forgive me if I don't stay awake that long!

EDIT - After 2.5 hours, the battery is at 72%. Thats with Web Browsing, various YouTube HD vids and some office document editing. I'll have to shut it down for now and continue tomorrow night unfortunately but at least this gives you a rough idea.

@superted69 - I left the MBP in sleep over night and have kicked it off again tonight. It's done another 2.5 hours and has dropped to 45%, so that means in 5 hours of 'use' and near on 19 hours of sleep, it has used 55% battery.

Given I'm abroad next week with work, I'm happy to drop this by £20. New price is £830 before delivery.

To confirm the final battery time, I managed to squeeze 8.5 hours out of it taking it down to 10%.

    Ps Bump.

Just checked my balance which wasn't looking too healthy at present, so if you wanted a quick deal could offer £750 if we could sort out delivery tomorrow.

    Otherwise no worries and GLWTS!

Lets call that a deal. As you say, the quick sale element is whats making me take this offer (if others try to refer to this to bring down prices etc for other threads).

I'll drop you a PM now with all my details. Can you respond with your details asap as well as your address and a preferred arrangements for the transaction? Cheers.
