I could come down to £1,400 collected but that's the lowest I can go really.

Can't unfortunately as postage via Royal Mail Special Delivery will cost £30 too.

    Where are you based?

I can do £1,400 if you can collect?
Or £1,415 and I can post, sharing postage costs.

It's all yours if you want it?

Frankie has pulled out as he was after the original paperwork for AppleCare.
As this was purchased by my old employer, I unfortunately don't have this.
As above, the serial shows the warranty etc.

Hello, can i ask how many months is this used for? and i'm abit particular on marks so is this fully mark free. i'm assuming you will provide the receipt for the laptop?
Also with the applecare already applied to the laptop incase of repair do we need receipt/proof of the original buyer?
Will you be including the case?

Mark free as it lived in a hard case from day one. No case included. Used for less than a month. I can provide a written receipt.
See feedback for piece of mind.

Thanks for your reply. Just got to know that old workplace will have to deregister the apple care and transfer to new buyer - only way it is valid. is this possible?

I can find out. Is there a form to fill in?
Out of experience, I recieved my last mac via my ex company and had to get the battery replaced on an old Macbook Air 2 years later. They never asked for anything when I was in store.

    Hi isentials,

I am a bit confused as to who owns this. Please don't think I'm thread crapping, I'm just trying to clear up the situation. I live in SE MK and have been following this thread for a week wishing someone else would buy it to get rid of the temptation!

    Your original post said:-
Which lead me to believe this was your own personal property. Then later on you said:-
So am I correct in thinking it was purchased by an old employer who you worked for about a month ago, who gave (sold?) you this laptop when you left and you've now got a new job who have given you a new laptop?

Do you have a receipt or other documentation saying the old employer gave / sold this laptop to you? Or anything to say you own it?

Has the ex employer gone bust, or if not will they give you the original sales receipt and AppleCare Proof of Coverage certificate? (having the sales receipt and the number off Proof of Coverage certificate is the only way to transfer it according to Apples website)

    Many thanks,
    Richard Wood

    Hi Richard,

You are right, I haven't done a great job explaining this.

OK, my old employer, a security firm based in MK purchased this on my behalf as they get better rates, VAT back etc. I can contact them and see if they produce a letter or something if that helps.
I had it from brand new and it auto enrols onto my Apple Account when you login.

I've moved to a new company and been given a new work Macbook with my new job hence I don't need two MacBooks.

I can enquire about the original receipt but never had an issues with AppleCare on my old MacBook Air or iPhone. The MK Apple Store treated them both as just being within warranty.

    Ok, I understand now, thanks.

As I'm emigrating soon and this will be going with me if I buy it, the Applecare would need to be transferred to me properly (I've a suspicion that US Apple stores will play by the book).

If you can get the original sales receipt from the old company (or a copy of it) and the AppleCare agreement number, and we can transfer the AppleCare to me, I'm happy to take it for the current asking price (assuming it is in immaculate condition as stated).

To transfer the AppleCare and verify it transferred OK we'd probably both need to go down to the Apple store in MK to do it straight away, taking ID and stuff, which I'd be happy to do. I'm also happy, if you can't get the AppleCare agreement number, to go there with you and the laptop and ask them what we can do about transferring it and we'd proceed from there)

If the applecare cannot be transferred then I'd treat it as not having AppleCare (I couldn't exactly fly back to the UK to ask you to take it in for me!!) and I'd consider it worth £200 less, but I say lets see what your old work comes up with and lets see what the Apple store does.

No worries but I really don't have the time to do a lot of what you've requested.
I've emailed my old boss and asked for the original receipt but that's all I can do at the moment.

I'm going to archive the thread but thanks for your interest.
