I have this one: mStand Laptop Stand - intro

A little expensive @ around £45 but very well made and looks very nice with the MB and the LED cinema display next to it. As for the charger, you can pick up the official ones on ebay new for around £30 odd if you search. I wouldn't be comfortable plugging a non-official one into my mac :smashin:

Thanks guys.
The Griffin doesn't look that nice in that pic, I'll google for some pictures from people actually using it.

That mStand looks sweet! Have to get it from USA though right? And yeah it's pricey, might wait for the £ to recover a bit :p

I got the Raid Design MStand as well, I just bought it via the UK Apple store and got my 6% Quidco cashback ;-)

Here are some real-life pictures...

JP do you use Teleport when you have the MacBook on the stand?

Oh and your cabling looks like a beginners attempt... I have two 10 gang towers behind my desk and dread ever touching anything. So much so I haven't yet attached a new 1TB My Book bought a week ago! :rotfl:

Mess it up a little!! ;)

Don't know what Teleport is, so no I don't use that....

Seriously? You have got to get Teleport its one of the greatest free apps on OS X if you have more than one Mac.

Description

teleport lets you use a single mouse and keyboard to control several Macs.
Simply reach an edge of your screen, and your mouse teleports to your nearby Mac, which also becomes controlled by your keyboard. The pasteboard can be synchronized, and you can even drag & drop files between your Macs.

teleport is donation-ware: if you want to support the author (me), you can make a donation by clicking on the link below. Thank you!

Its a great way of accessing and controlling a second (or more) Macs.

Teleport

I keep meaning to post this separately for others - will do it now.

Oh dear!!! - Handbags at dawn! Take 10 paces, turn, and fire!!!

This is a tech forum do try and keep in subject.

That should be floppy discs** at dawn... I eschew the vulgar modern USB drive weapon :D

** 5.25" for preference ISTR they flew further

Its still not connected I'll try tomorrow, just got the 23" sorted and I can't face going in there tonight!

Its yet another My Book the 1Tb Essential got from Comet for about £61 a week ago. Swore I'd never buy another but faced with rearranging my stuff again I caved and bought the new one. Five My Books now - I need a Drobo but it'll have to wait until after the next iMac and Snow Leopard.

YGM BTW.

dejong - workspace looking nice and clean

I have to ask about the stand. What is it? Desk space management and to prop the Macbook on show? Genuine question as the thought of a stand never entered my mind

I don't have a use for Teleport as I don't have multiple Mac...Well I do, but one is in my daughters play room and one is well where ever my wife leaves her Blackbook...

I didn't quite know what was meant by the beginners attempt regarding my cabling no floppy's from me at Dawn. I thought it was just a euphemism of Tenex being jealous of my 30 inches :)

The stand I use and was asked about first is by Rain Design Ltd and it is called the M-Stand. See here mStand Laptop Stand - intro and I bought mine here Rain Design mStand for MacBook/MacBook Pro - Apple Store (U.K.) but it was a lot cheaper last fall...

I bought it purely for ergonomically reasons as I felt I was bending down my head a lot when using my setup in dual monitor mode. The problem with having it raised and close to my main screen is that I then noticed the colour differences, so I bought a Spyder 3 Elite to sort that out as it can do specific dual-monitor mode profiles which match them perfectly but then automatically switch back to the individual profiles when running in single monitor mode.

LOL I was contrasting the neat and tidy desk and the untidy cabling below and suggesting mine was far, far worse. I won't let my cleaner touch my desk or Macs ...
