If they were both the same price which of the two would be better? I'm not looking to buy but I've always said to myself that if a GSW12 comes up I'll probably get it as you dont see many around now. They are both similar in size but the MA has an extra 200w of power.
I would say the MA would be better "if they were the same price" as it has its own in built eq system, whereas the bk would benefit from either a mini dsp or antimiode to be a side by side comparison. As you say the MA also has more power, so would in theory have more headroom at a given level.
I know someone that will be able to give a more detailed response @AudioVisualOnline as I may have got the eq bit wrong, its not got an automated eq system, but does have the ability to change its response, but you may need the likes of REW to see what changes its actually doing to the in room response.
Sorry, Ive only just seen this, the notifications system doesnt seem to be notifying us of much. I would tend to agree with Steve on this one. At the XLS400 price the GSW12 is a lot of subwoofer for that kind of money. With respect to the eq modes, this is the information from MA: Thats a comprehensive package for a little over £400. Finding one is another matter entirely. Regards Dan
Just an FYI, from time to time we do end up with unlisted MA stock that good deals are available on, always worth giving us a call and seeing what we have available. Stock changes all the time so they dont get listed, but its usually ex-demo etc, so in very good condition. Regards Dan
Non of the Monitor Audio deals are listed on our website unless its old discontinued product lines. The more up to date products rotate quickly and are never listed, most are one off items etc, so information is only available upon request. Easiest thing if your curious is to just give us a call and see what we have at any particular time. Regards Dan
