M8S v MX Android

Hi all, looking to buy an Android box mainly for Kodi (BlackBox). I'm looking to spend only £40 or so, so was looking at either the M8S or MX box. What are people's views on these choices?

Thanks

Thanks for your help. I'm baffled by it all to be honest, 'Openelec' and 'rom' means nothing to me lol.

They come with more options android, apps, storage and kodi is usually already installed.
With the firestick you need to sideload kodi.

Can I attach a seagate 4tb external drive to this with no problems?

I'm looking to finally change my WDTV live which is giving me problems.

Just wondering if this would be a better option for me or trying to set up a raspberry pi.

With the raspi, would that mean all my Samsung smart TVs could use it? Can I run plex and kodi off a pi?

Is it easy for a novice to set up?

Thanks for any help.

Pi will only run Kodi and plex via an addon thats clunky at best.
Your better off with that android box.

Thanks, I've got an old Samsung netbook, so I'm going to see if that can run a plex share to my TVs (I got one running on my laptop, but don't want that running all the time), see how it goes.

I'll probably get that box for the streaming after anyway [emoji106].
