any advice on how to set this sub up for maximum depth?
all other speakers are Kef's
I would expect that the sub will be naturally producing bass down to the lowest frequencies possible.
Only room placement is likely to alter the sound in that way.
Try putting the sub where you intend to sit.
Walk round the room and note where the bass sounds deepest and where it sounds loudest (may not be the same place !).
The place that gives you the deepest bass is where you should position the sub.
Then you need to spend a few hours with bass rich music or movies that you know well to tweak the level and crossover. This can take ages. I wish more subs had remote controls...
I found this method works well with a REL Strata2. I would assume it works with most down-firing subs. Dunno about M&K but worth trying..
Thanks to both of you for the advice. Sorry for the length of tiome to reply, but been hard at work paying for the hobby !!
Sounds like my day off tomorrow is going to be spent moving my sub around the room (hope the neighbours are out
