    Hi

    My setup is Yamaha A2, Kef Q35's, Q15's & Q95c + M&K VX100.
My problem is the subwoofer always sounds too 'boomy'
I have the following setting on the back of the sub :-
Cable connected to both Left & Right (is this ok?)
    Bass Level :- Reference 0dbs
    Phase :- minus
Low Passfilter :- Variable, and Hz set to 75

Any advice on setting this sub would be so helpful.

    Thanks

    Jason

    Hi

What have you got the speakers selected as in bass management Large/Small?? Bass to both?? etc

Try Front left & right set to Large, others to Small, bass to both, crossover on the sub set to around the lowest frequency your main speakers go down to e.g 50hz OR All speakers set to Small, all bass to sub, sub crossover set to maximum (as the amp controls the cutoff, around 90hz on Yamahas).

You´ll have to play around with the phase setting and volume control on the sub as well to fine tune it.:)

    Thanks for the advice.

I'm now very happy with the sound, (not sure about my neighbours though :D )

    Cheers
