Sorry mate, I had to go with the more concrete offer I'm afraid. Hope the extension goes well!

    Hi Doug.

Joined here solely to get an idea of a system that would be ideal for my size and set up of front room which is similar to yours... Over 20 years ive auditioned several systems in a showroom only to be disappointed when used at home. As you seem to be an absolute av master, who won't except anything below perfect.... Im pretty confident if I install this set up, I'll finally have a system to be content with. Can you please tell the amp, sub you used with it. And wether or not you integrated atmos speakers in your set up? Or stuck with a 7.1

    Cheers!

Hi Jimbo. You most certainly wouldn't be disappointed with this set up. There's a link in my signature which should provide answers to your questions. In short though:

    Amp: NAD T758v3
    Sub: M&K Sound V12
Stuck with 7.1 (wired for ceiling Atmos but never got round to it)

Apologies for a slight thread drift... did the NAD ever struggle running the speakers? I've been toying with one myself (if only they'd confirm eARC!) but had few responses on capabilities with M&K stuff!

    No worries.

It's never come anywhere near struggling. I've never listened at reference in this room, but I've had it near quite a few times, and the NAD sounds brilliant. Sound-wise, the NAD is stonkingly good (some ARC and other niggles though, well documented on the owners thread).

That aside, if you did have power concerns, the NAD + a second hand power amp could come in cheaper than anything comparable.

Cheers, I had been reading that. It's a bit of a non starter at the mo due to the lack of eARC. You were just quite unique in that you replaced an SR7012 with one, running basically the same speakers as I am getting!

Sadly I cannot fit a power amp in, so need the best one box I can get that ticks all my requirements.... as it is, the SR7012 is still it!

I'll move my comments to your actual thread to stop sabotaging this.... but have a free bump!

It’s a shame the surround speakers have gone, might have been tempted to go for the lot! Any suggestions of what I could use for surround duties instead to complement the rest?

I've been using the MP7s as surrounds and would again were I able to (no place to mount them in the new house). They're fantastic speakers and integrate seamlessly.
