Does anyone know if i can use a set of universal stands or brackets with the K5. I don't want to drill into the cabinet but i notice from the manual that they have a thread insert for M&K's own brackets.

Argos do some nice universal alphason stands for about £25

Anyone shed any light on this.

    Thanks

dvdchild - For the £25 that they cost it might be worth trying and if it does not work you could always take them back for a refund, obviously the best stands would be M&K's own but they are expensive :(

well tried the alphason supports and no joy - did have the right mounting options I don't really want to use the included wood screws to attach brackets. I would rather use the thread screw holes or some very small top plate stands.

    anyone have any ideas?

The only thing i could think of would be to use some small top plate stands with some blutack on the bottom of the K5's to hold them to it, how stable they would be could be an issue though. :(

well after weekend of searching i bought some Gaje speaker stands from Ikea. They advise to screw 3 wood screws into the bottom of speaker to hold on. Don't think so. So with a little bit of brain storming i used some Glass coaster turned upside down and glued them to the top of the stand to make a speaker platform.

Works perfectly although not very child friendly (one push and they would come straight off but no different to a normal speaker/stand)

Will post up a picture when i get a chance but overall quite pleased.
