M+K K-7 fault

I've recently noticed a fault with one of my M+K K-7s - at first it was intermittent, but seems to be permanent now - the tweeter is not firing at all, as a result, the top end is being cut off all dialogue, resulting in all speech sounding very muffled (a bit of a problem as it's my centre speaker!). When the problem was intermittent, moving the speaker cables seemed to correct the problem for a while, so I wonder if there's a dry joint to blame. If there is, is there any way that I can go about sorting it out. If not, how do I get it seen to, as I recall that M+K give a 10 year guarantee on their speakers?

The normal way of implementing a warranty claim is via the dealer that you bought it from.

Unfortunately, my M+K's were second hand. Am I able to get in touch with M+K direct? Do they have a UK base of operations?

The UK distributor is Gecko Inc telephone 020 8603 0480

They will honour any guarantee as long as the speakers haven't been imported to this country for resale.

Try going straight to M&K USA.

From my experience gecko will not be intrested if you are not the original owner.
They will fix them for you, but they will charge you labour and p+p, but the warranty says it covers labour.

I got in touch with M&K USA and they sent me a new tweeter.
4 screws and 2 wires later........new tweeter installed, sounds as good as ever.
