    Utter Crap.

    Do not buy this.
Who ever "mixed/mastered" this must of been suffering from extreme hearing damage (about 90db down from 5hz upwards by my reckoning)
I realise this is a "product" of the 80's but even so.

Your cats/dogs will not like it either.

Having read some reviews of the sacd version,
you are not the only one who thinks it's rubbish!

    Coming soon:

    My in-depth reviews of:

Police - Every breathe she takes - SACD

Groove Armarda - Goodbye country, Hello nightclub - SACD

I only hope they are not as "in-depth" as my last review.

Interesting, as I recently got the 2001 remastered Special Edition CD of Thriller and the sound quality is beautiful! Brilliant dynamics, bass depth, and clarity - infinitely better than most pop recordings from the 80s! I was certainly well impressed.

    Duncan.

Indeed i have the self same and am able to switch "on the fly" between cd/sacd players.

The remastered cd is not too shoddy at all but the sacd has a far more "open and expressive" midrange presentation with real snap, the differences betwwen the formats on such things as the "snare snap" on Beat It are nothing short of amazing.
But the tops (particularly with the hyper-tweeters on my kefs) is just SEARING (and i like detail!)
On several tracks it really as if you are standing in the African bush in the presence of 10,000,000 locusts/etc.
Too say it was "peaky" would be an injustice - which is a real shame because it's lower elements are an improvement over the cd IMHO.
