Hi guys, does anybody know if updating the software on my vision HDP removes the current saved settings or are they retained  :)

The settings are retained unless the blurb for the update says otherwise...some of the more major updates did wipe clean everything but the later ones have been okay.

    Cheers, Lee

I saw a comment from Jim or Pat on AVS about this, their answer was that was necessary in one of the earlier beta releases but they don't see any reason why they would have to do that again with the updates they are working on and have planned.

I can confirm that in the past 10 or so updates that I have done since getting my HDP, none of them have cause the loss of my settings. Saying that though, I have downloaded but not installed the latest software release, so fingers crossed

There is now an application on Lumagens website that allows you to store your config in your pc. You can then send it to others to try or to Lumagen if de-bugging is required. This should allow folk with similar systems to easily set up there units and share timing ideas etc.

Only one beta update removed settings. All current and proposed future updates shoudl save config before re-writing memory.

    Welcome home, Gordon

P.S. Do you have the knowledge (codes) for doing an ISF calibration on an Optima RD50?
