I was wondering what would be the best connection to go for between my Lumagen Vision to my plasma (when I pick it) the Lumagen only has a VGA HD15 output and the manual states that the best siganl to use is RGBHV and not Component as then the Luma signal is spread across RG&B (does anyone know if this is true, any Lumagen users out there who've compared?), so the options would be VGA straight to the VGA input of the plasma, VGA -> 5BNC (if the plasma has a RGBHV BNC input), or VGA -> 5RCA (once again if the plasma can accept a RGBHV via RCA inputs)? Or if I did choose to go with component then it would be VGA -> VGA or VGA -> 3 RCA/BNC?

    Whats best?

If it matters the plasma in question will be either a Panny6/Pio4/Fuji30 50"

    Thanks

    Ryan

    Hi Ryan

I've just ordered a Panny 6 and Lumagen Vision and will be using this cable to feed a Component (YPrPb) signal to the Plasma which has a 3 BNC Component Input.

I was reading elsewhere that some plasmas only accept certain resolutions on RGBHV compared to YPrPb and that some also locked to a 4:3 ratio as they assumed it was a PC signal.

    Hope this helps.:)

I agree with Jim at Lumagen that RGBHV is preferable.

Current plasma's don;t seem to suffer from the "aspect lock" syndrome.

So Gordon would you say that I'd be better going for a VGA to VGA and using RGBHV or would I get any benifit using a VGA to 5RCA's or 5BNC's if the plasma accepts them??

Also have you had chance to post the serial cable out?

    Thanks

In theory the BNC should be best but I have never gone as far as doing PC input v's BNC terminal boards

Jase can I ask how much it cost in GBP for that cable including delivery and import duty etc... It looks just what I'll need, whether I'll be using RGBHV or YPrPb, I'll only need a 1m length.

    Cheers
