lowing background noise

Hi i have a panasonic TX P42C3B and was wondering if there is a way to lower the background sounds on it as i have hearing problems and can not hear the characters speaking very good as background music and noise come though to loud

A common problem, but not one you can solve easily, as you cannot adjust the level on the TV.

The best method is to use an AV receiver and speaker system, as this allows you to have a speaker dedicated to the speech, which you can turn up. This however, is going to cost a few hundred pounds and needs more space for the equipment.

Easier methods would be a sound bar, which will give better quality audio and will project the speech better towards you. A sound bar is an external speaker that sit just below your TV, and plugs into it.

You could also consider some headphones, or if you wear a hearing aid, then a personal loop system, also driven off the headphone socket on the TV.
