    Hi All,

I'm looking for a bit of advice on a first set of floorstanders. I have looked at the following:

    KEF Cresta 30
    Mission M34i, M33i
    Tannoy Fusion 3
    Wharfedale Diamond 9.4
    Acoustic Energy Aegis Evo 3
    JBL Studio 10 and KV6

I am basically looking for some speakers that are detailed and bright. The room they will be installed in is about 5m x 5m (a loft room) and they will have to be fairly close to the wall (within 30cm).

Any suggestions? I don't really want to pay over £250.

    Cheers,

    Daryl

The Wharfedale Diamond's are great speakers and front ported so you can place them close to a wall. The Mission's would also serve you well but are rear ported and need space to breathe. Not heard the JBL's or AE and preferred the Missions over the Kef's and Tannoy.

    Regards,

    DG

You could probably get a better stand mouting speaker (bookshelf) for your money unless you really do want floorstanders.
