    Louis Theroux returns with three new films (see below) putting Los Angeles under the microscope.

    Continuing his diverse exploration of life in America, Louis looks at LA’s problem with neglected and feral dogs; the experiences of patients with life-threatening conditions at the city’s most famous hospital; and examines how California deals with sex offenders after they are released from prison.

    Louis Theroux;

    Always amazed me they did not follow up the Saville story he did a few years ago.
    Really creepy.

    Looking forward to this as LA is one weird city and Louie Theroux will be able to shine a bright light on its eccentricities. I've been a few times and it's a city I find interesting but also unnerving and threatening. It doesn't really feel like a proper city. What I mean is that if you go to what most would consider the city centre it feels heartless and without character. When you stand in the middle of a city like Glasgow, Manchester, London, Stockholm, Barcelona, etc, etc you feel like you're right at the heart of the city's core - its beating heart (people coming and going, shopping, business, sightseeing). It doesn't feel like that at all in downtown LA.

    And if you visit Beverly Hills and, say, Rodeo Drive you see some strange sights. Back in the early 00s I seen a young girl, probably no more than 13, with two massive black eyes. She was with her mum who looked glamorous and pristine, so I can only assume that the young girl had recently received plastic surgery on her nose and that she wasn't the victim of domestic abuse. A parent might suggest to her daughter (in this country that alone would be unusual) that she should rest and allow the swelling to settle before venturing into a busy shopping area, but plastic surgery is clearly so commonplace and acceptable that hiding the bruises and wounds it causes isn't seen as odd or embarrassing.

    Just caught Tuesday's One Show on demand with LT main guest ... he mentioned the Scientology documentary feature film he is working on

    He tweeted this last month
    Louis Theroux working on Scientology documentary - TV News - Digital Spy
    Louis Theroux working on 'non-judgemental' Scientology documentary - News - TV & Radio - The Independent

    LT's also just tweeted about Fred Phelps who died yesterday

    The bigger the fruit-cake, the better LT is. Enjoyed the first one - though as you say, bits of it weren't an easy-watch. Looking forward to part 2.

    It was OK. A lot of the episode just seemed like normal dog stuff though. The best bit was probably those guys training their dogs to attack and the fact that there just doing it in a public park as well. In one shot though you can see a police car in the background so I'm wondering if the episode tricked us into thinking this was a normal thing to see in LA. Why didn't Louis go up and talk to the police watching?

    it didnt look like it was in a park to me- looked like private land, the police were probably there keeping an eye over louie while he got involved with the more dangerous aspects of that, at least thats how i saw it.

    I'll have to check on iPlayer. I thought it was a park, maybe I was wrong.

    Just watched Ep 2. Think i enjoyed the Dogs episode more (as others have said, some of it was hard) but but any Louis programme is quality, imo.
