I have a strange issue on my AVR-6200. After I brought it in to Denon for a repair (some minor, lose center terminal), the surround left channel started to create a loud noise when turned on (right when when the power button is pressed, way before it clicks), and when I turn it off (right after the click). It sounds like some voltage arrives at the speaker that shouldn't be there. It is loud enough to be distracting, and to be not beneficial for the speaker long term.

I tried a lot of troubleshooting:
  • Before the repair, I had the same receiver with the same speaker setup running flawlessly for over a year.
  • Tested with a different cables and speakers on the same surround back left terminal - same issue
  • Disconnected everything and just tested the speaker - same
  • Factory reset - same
  • Used a different receiver with the same speaker setup - no issue
It all points to a defect in the receiver - I brought it to Denon's factory repair, and they can't reproduce it.

I am perplexed, has anyone seen this before? The only explanation I can imagine is that the Denon's test procedures are not catching the signal I am clearly hearing.
