Must be a scam if you never entered.

I had thought of that, so far all emails sent have bounced but there are several phone numbers in the email I can call, although they are all South Africa international code for a Canadian Lottery.

    The email sounds very convincing,

All participants "email address" were selected through a computer balloting system drawn form Nine hundred thousand names from Canada, Australia, United States, Asia, Europe, Middle East, Africa and Oceanic as part of our international promotions program, which is conducted annually.

The website for the Alb lottery looks a bit suspect in my opinon.

    1) Pop ups and adverts (so a free or subsidised web server), for a company which is dealing out millions of pounds? mmmm... :(

    2) The contact addresses are hotmail and yahoo - surely a lottery would have its own email addresses?

    3) If they can't afford their own hosting for a few hundred a year, then how is this company running?

    4) Your emails have bounced

    5) The phone numbers and dial-codes don't match as you say

    6) mentioned as a scam here

I think I'd avoid that one if I were in your shoes! Sorry!! :smashin:

My advice is don't even go there! Major scam. I reckon once u get caught you'll never get out. Same type of scam as email letters saying 'I found you on the internet & feel I can trust you to get millions of pounds out of my country into your bank account' The fraud squad strangely enuf seem v interested in this type of email.........make of that what you will!

I even get emails claiming to be from the National Lottery saying I've won millions. At least one a week.

There's even a number to call (mobile of course), tho I haven't dared ring it yet.

I get, mmm lets see, approx 100 emails every day of which I delete approx 98 without reading...

Half a dozen will be lottery wins, another half a dozen will be viagra cialis (?) etc, half a dozen unauthorised access of my paypal account, quite a few unauthorised access for banks I'm not a customer of, lots of teen pics, a couple of unfortunate Nigerian ex pats trying to launder money, and some bargain rolex/cartier watches...

99.99% of these are unconvincing scams

0.01% are sometimes convincing scams for which www.snopes.com is a good reference guide.

Don't open any of them, don't even preview them, just delete the garbage!

This sort of thing is such a load of old pish. I really think that theses so called loto wins and prize fund scams should be stopped. There are actually people that fall for this sort of thing and end up out of pocket because of it.
