There seems to be two Lord Of The Ring titles released in November - both four disks - an Extended Version and a Collectors Edition. What's the difference other than about £10 in price? Do they both contain the 'two-disk' extended version of the Fellowship Of The Ring?

The more expensive one contains a couple of bookends and (I think) an extra 5th disc of the National Geographic programme that looks into the making of the film.

I've plumped for the regular 4 disc version myself, don't have much need for a couple of stone bookends

Only the Region One version has the extra fifth disc. Which makes the Region Two collector's edition even less value for money. :)

What worries me is that the movie is supposed to span 2 disks, which means I'm going to have to get up mid-movie and change disks :(

It's not that I'm a lazy barsteward, it's just that I feel like it would break the flow of the movie.

    Yes,

but think of the picture and sound quality they'll be able to achieve with all that disk-space! :D

Not yet, but according to Play it was posted yesterday afternoon. Doesn't look like I'll receive it until after the weekend - damn!

    Great.:D

That means my local video shop may have his rental copies in. He normally puts the films that are due for release on Monday out on the Saturday before if they come in early. I'll have to check on my way in from work and reserve a copy. :D

    Thanks guy's.
