    Does anyone know if anywhere is shipping two towers yet, also what it costs, or what the best place to buy it is?
    I think Disc Emporium is shipping sometime this week but they are not the cheapest.
    P.S
    I only want true U.S.A

    Just being curious rather than judgemental, is the R1 really worth that much more than the R2? My preorder of the R2 EE cost £17.99 inc. delivery shortly after purchasing FOTR:EE for £16.99. Would have gone R1 had the price been similar but can't justify ~£7 more for each of 3 movies...

    Thanks Hol1yw0od.

    Underscore,
    Its just my opinion but R1 stuff is usually better for extras,sound, being uncut and packaging. So in my opinion its worth the extra.

    Underscore: I personnally don't think so. I have gone for the USR1 @ Movietyme fort he soimple reason that I have thwe thatrical R1 but the UKR2s of theatrical and EE of FOTR. so just wanted to have a bit of change.
    FOTR R1vs UKR2 was the same except for a cut and an absent extra. Some people prefer the picture quality and sound on the R1 some those on the R2.

    very simple:

    In the UK shops get delivery of new releases the week b4 release ( around friday AFAIK) b4 then they are stored at the studios/discmanufacturers warehouses.

    In the US they are sent out up to 3 weeks earlier to suppliers to ensure that all have stocks when release date comes. And I guess it also saves them on storage facilities.

    A lot of R1 suppliers ship as soon as they get stock. Judging from comments on the HTF it is also more common for highstreet shops in the states to sell DVDs early than it is over here.

    Not if you buy the R2 box set with the statue, the packaging/case is excellent much thicker than the normal extednded release, well thats they way it was with fotr.

    I found the R2 Gift set of FOTR:EE to be better than the R1, so i'll be getting the R2 Gift sets of TTT:EE and ROTK:EE.

    I may however get the R1 Trilogy Gift Set!! :)

    In terms of FOTR, the bit that was cut wasn't part of the film, it was just an extra that was cut by a very short time.

    Ther was the easter egg with jack black spoof that was cut also I think. Although I've never tried to find it on my R2 release.

    As for the packaging, it wasa bit flimsey but TTT is worth putting up with for £17.99. There will be more releases for sure.

    Anyway, I think we can forgive R2 boxsets for their cheapness.....all except Alien Legacy. If the new R2 release is as poor as that was I might risk the HMC&E.

    @ldoodle
    sorry I didn't specify that. You are right only the docmunetary has been cut not the film.

    @Sick Boy. the UKR2 didn't have the MTV spoof at all as it wouldn't have fitted the PG rating. I downloaded it from the net afterwards and couldn't get past the first 30seconds, just too stupid.

    you got the UKR2, rochdale, right??

    I know that play are already shipping the UKr2, which is weird as the R2 usually doesn't ship early.

    EDIT just cheked your piccies and it's the R1..what do you mean "picket up"???

    anyways. nice set. how well does the gollum statute look and how good is that extras DVD??
    I decided to skip the giftset this time, but I fear it might have been a mistake.

    cheers

    Yeah there is a place where I live that imports them.

    The gollum statue looks good, it seems of reasonable quality but the statues from the fellowship are more to my taste. I haven't had chance to watch any of the dvds yet, I've just got back from the gym and I have some work to do before tomorrow.

    I had to almost rip the box apart to get the gollum statue out, the fecking packaging for it had been hotglued to the box.

    You are correct, but it's only a national geographic dvd of the film (which I aint bothered about). Aside from this, the only other difference is the cut to an extra talked about earlier in this thread.

    @lux...

    that's what I thought as well. my R2 gift set was shipped on 5/11. i'm not complaining though!! :)

    I`m not really complaining. I'll have it by monday and that is still 8 days b4 official release. It`s just that this weekend I won`t have any work to do so it would have been nice to watch FOTR EE and TTT EE in a row.
    But now at least I`ll have time to go through 24 S1 again, and Black hawk down and the two cuts of Almost famous and The Rock and Solaris and Spirited away and....
    yep I think I can survive the weekend;)
