Does anyone have this release in r3 from cdwow?
Is it identical to the r1 and r2 release?

Haven't played it yet but it seems to be exactly the same as region 1 apart from having chinese sub-titles.

Don't mean to sound a right knob, but are the Chinese subtitles on permanently.

Also to repeat the question does anyone really know if it there are any differences to the Region 1 and Region 2 versions

No the sub-titles are selected from the menu otherwise it's clear.

I can only say it does seem to be the same as R1 - New Line Platinum Series, NTSC, DD EX, DTS ES, 2.35:1, same packaging except the removable slip case has an extra piece in Chinese, and the same contents list that I've seen for the other regions.

Ordered mine 15th November, arrived 19th.

i got my copy in this moring and its mostly identical to the r1 the only poor thing is when they speak elvish the subtitles seam to player gernerated and appear in the black bars on the r3 where as in the r1 they are burnt into the screen and appear on the screen just like in the cinema, the pacakging also appears to be a darker red its the same thickness & quality as the r1
