    Hi guys,

I've just noticed that the R2 (Pal) LOTR disc has a quoted run time of 171 minutes, whereas the R1 disc has a quoted run time of 178 minutes. Any thoughts?

    Best Wishes,

I think you´ll find its to do with the 4% speedup of PAL films. They run faster than the NTSC equivalent.

The region one DVD has the longer version where Frodo drops the One Ring down a plughole whilst washing his hands - it takes them hours to fish it out again using some blue tac and a bent coathanger. :)

    I Guys,

Thanks for the info. That explains it. The trouble is I know I'm not going to be able to live without the coathanger sequence. So, I guess it must be region 1 for me!

    Best Wishes,
