$37.98 = less than £16.00
Just to say this is the 4 disk EE set Bargain or What!! and it's REGION 1 even better
At the current exchange rate the 4 Discs Extended Edition is at about £15.15 but does anyone know, if you buy it at todays exchange rate what happens if come shipping day the exchange rate has changed and even though you only paid £15.15 it is now valued at over the £18 limit, would you have to pay charges and if so would DVDSoon refund you?
If the exchange rate were to push the cost over the £18.00 limit I believe customs charges would apply (if that were likely I would cancel the order at that time if you could get it cheaper elsewhere ). I'm pretty sure DVDSoon would not offer any refund!
Do you know whether or not they ship early like Movietyme?
I think this depends on when you actually order the pre-release. It seems the earlier you order, the quicker you receive it (which makes sense!), but I suspect DVDSoon get a lot more orders than Movietyme, so it must take a while to get everything sent out.
The short answer is - no, given my experience you are unlikely to receive this "early".
Excuse the novice question but why will the Region 1 Extended Editon be better than the R2?
Above point is a fair point: why????
Also, dvdsoon take your money as soon as you preorder something. So, they'll have your £16 odd for 5 months before you get the product. Pointless IMO
For me I prefer R1 releases because of better packaging; no Pal speedup; progressive scan
Not necessarily pointless. Take a look at the cost of the Aladdin Deluxe set or any number of other pre-orders and you'll see that the price invariably rises at some point prior to release.
Totally agree - also the first two had some of the extras/easter eggs missing on the region 2s...
I had a good look at the R2 EE recently and can't see any difference with the packaging. Also, the R2 works just fine for PS with the right equipment. The reason I went for the R1 was due to reported sound artifacts on the R2/4 on FOTR. I don't know if it applied to TTT though.
The Region 1 versions have better outer cases, much thicker.
Yep, the standard R1 releases of the Extended Editions have the same type of outer packaging as the R2 releases inside the Collectors Boxset which is much thicker.
