I have a R1 LOTR 4 disc EE for sale. I obtained it from "another forum" and WAS very happy with my purchase. However, disc 2 refuses to play on my Philips Q50. The person who I brought it from says it played fine on his Pioneer 444 and a Mico player. He also says he sold for a friend who refuses to refund my money.
However, I am not here to whinge about that - anyone willing to take a chance on this can have it for £13 inc - nochex preferable here please.

Any potential buyer please note, you have been warned about the disc not playing in MY player. The first 45 minutes played in my sons Alba player. I will not refund any money if it dosen't play - at least you have had a warning. I didn't :(

Point to note here - the disc is in perfect conditition - NO scratches, fogging or marks of any description - which is why it might just be my player.

My brand new Denon 3800 also refused to play the second disk, but my sony autochanger played it fine.

However, after some disc spinning and lots of noise the denon does seem to play it now.

did you get the menu up? I get it now and if I press play it works, if I try to do anything else it locks up.

so thats two players (or 2 1/2 if you count the alba) it doesn't like

Nope - no menu or anything. Just spits the disc out. After about 45 mins on the alba (the tomb scene), it froze. I never tried it again. It's a pity it's disc 2. If it was an extra's disc, I would bite my lip and keep it - but I'm missing the last 2 hours of one of the best films ever made. Even my wife commented during disc 1 that she felt she had been cheated when we saw it at the cinema....So it may be a common fault? Maybe I should edit my original post and charge a bit more for it....

Anyone know of a forums where this problem is discussed?

I'll hold out for the extra quid - tight I know but I'll have enough to buy the R2 then.....:clown: :(

edit: I'll take £13 by direct payment into my bank as well - as long as it's cash - not a bank transfer.

The first time I played it, I got the menu. Then the disc just hung when I pressed play. I cleaned the disc (even though it wasn't visibly dirty) and since then my Philips spits it out. Still plays on the Alba though. The Philips plays everything else fine - even "difficult" discs like Spiderman....

So do I. I'll PM you the details and that should be immediate. Sure you can't find the extra quid - will probably cost me that to post the bugger.....;)

I'm stuck here mate TBH. I've dug myself in it. It looks as though I have accepted Tee's offer even though you have offered the asking price.....Over to you Tee - match it maybe.

    BTW, got xXx OK.

I'm not gonna kick up a fuss here but I thought we had a deal? I had to rush out earlier, just before actually transfering the cash and now I've returned to finish the deal only to find out that you have sold it to someone else! Is that really fair?

It's got nothing to do with trading here or anywhere else - you said we had a deal, I went out, returend to complete the deal, you sold it to someone else.
