That was the last play of episode 4

Each episode is on 6 times

    E4 14 23:00 Wednesday
    E4+1 39 00:00 Thursday
    E4 14 21:00 Sunday
    E4+1 39 22:00 Sunday
    C4 04 22:00 Wednesday
    C4 04 18:30 Sunday

I watch on E4+1 because it is in a higher resolution than E4

Really? I'd never heard that before. Is that for everything or just Lost?

I think it is the horizontal resolution

    E4 is 5?? and E4+1 is 720

Saw it in the digital TV newsgroup

I also tested by flipping between the two recordings

Yeah there are plenty of ways to save money or squeeze an extra channel onto a transponder or mux than just taking a PAL resolution 720*576 broadcast and reducing the bitrate. Reducing the resolution gives you the same overall bandwidth saving although sacrificing picture quality and pre-processing of an image before compression can hide the artifacts (up to a point) generated by lower bitrates.

The UK really does need some regulatory control over digital TV broadcast standards.

E4 is on Mux 2 and they rent space to titsup TV and get it by providing an inferior picture for E4

E4+1 is on a Crown Castle MUX
