    You've been warned.......

Select the white text below. Something i've been wondering about............

Reckon Ethan's chest moving up and down as he's about to be burried was deliberate, or an oversight by the camera crew?

Must have missed that bit, but what I don't understand is why by the time they get to the last episode
    is Hurley still hugely overweight
    ?

Hurley does mention that he has tightened his belt a notch. Anyway, the first season covers only 40 days so maybe the fish, fruit, etc. means he isn't losing weight as fast as you expect. So much for a healthy diet!

I thought Fish, and fruit WAS a healthy diet!! :rotfl:

40 days isnt anywhere near enough to loose that kind of weight anyway.

Great show, cant wait for the next season!!

As someone that won't be continuing with this series (I'm giving up having watched episode four), can anyone confirm my suspicions that Lost is like so many other US imports these days in that....

    1. You don't find out who or what is knocking down the trees.

    2. You don't get to find out how the polar bear found its way onto the island.

    3. The season ends on the promise of a dramatic 'reveal' but then doesn't deliver.

Send me a PM if you don't want to reveal any spoilers for those that might be continuing with the series.

    Cheers!

Even if I had the correct answers I would be tempted not to let you know; if you are so anxious to know, watch the show.

Some but maybe not all the answers will probably be revealed in season 2. I love the series and don't demand or expect instant answers. It is quite refreshing watching something in almost real time and still remain entertained.

    Hi Barbara2001

I'm not at all interested in finding out the specifics.

For example, I don't want to know what it is that's knocking down all of the trees...but I do want to know if the show actually reveals the answer.

My concern with Lost is that it sounds like a show that's being made up by the writers as they go along...and if I'm right, it will most likely be cancelled / pulled before the writers ever get around to revealing any of the answers to the questions it poses.

From your post it would seem that I'm at least part right...in which case my decision not to waste any more time on it is right.

It's only yourself to blame if you give up after episode 4. The backstory stuff is as interesting as the island anyway. Also consider this, how many of the passengers "voluntarily" got on the plane rather than having some reason to do so.

Frankly, given JJ Abrams past record, he probably is making it up as he goes along, but it's one hell of a ride.

I'm sure somewhere in the Digital Spy News items there is a piece about Lost that states the writers do know the answers and have planned to tells some but not all of them in season 2.

I love mystery and can wait (impatiently, I admit) for the story to unfold at the writers' pace. Not much sense in reading the final page of a book before you have read the rest.

True...but it's nice to know that the final page is actually there when you start.

It's not unreasonable to assume that the writers do have an overall storyline mapped out and planned for the full show lifetime. It has been done before.

.... and wasn't it confirmed quite early on that there would be a second season, thereby giving the writers a chance to map out what they want to let us know, and when?

Chris Carter was able to get a good few series out of the X Files without revealing a great deal. Would need to double check, but i'm pretty sure we didnt really get many revelations and explanations until about the fifth series.

I seem to remember that CC was forced into adopting more of continuing storyline approach (rather than self contained week-to-week episodes), when Gillian Anderson took time out to have a baby. They didn't want to write her out of the show, but had to come up a reasonable explanation as to why she was absent...hence the abduction stuff. That took X-Files into a different direction.

I hope audiences stay good for Season 2. The rate that American shows get cancelled half-way or at the end of a series, I'll be disappointed if the show ends without tying up the loose ends and unanswered questions!

Speaking from experience, in 40 days, you could lose a stone or maybe two.
But on a big bloke, it might not be *that* obvious.

    :rotfl:
    Nice one.
Who needs all the answers up front though, a bit of mystery is good for the soul and we've waited a long time for the Twin Peaks successor.
