lost audio on my 2800!!!

While watching a dvd on my 2800mk1, (bought it 1.5 years ago), I suddenly lost all audio (video still works). Already checked it with other disks and cds and still no audio. Amp still works. Does anybody know how to reset the machine, or have other advice before I send it to an expensive repair? Can it also be a problem with my digtal coaxial connection??

Have you tried using different interconnects? Optical/Analogue Phono? If so, do the same problems continue to be exhibited?
