That's a good idea,it sounds like it lets you choose what you do with your xp,as opposed losing your souls if you die before you get them back.
I can't wait for this game.
    Should be excellent.

Yeah I think the condition is that you can only bank them at save points as well. Really liking the sound of the combat. I don't want a button masher.

Doesn't sound too promising from that article. Have to say I don't like the look of the main character either, bit too huge and tanky for my liking.

Do hope it's good though, will wait for others opinions before spending money on it.

Take a look at a video I posted earlier, you can choose whether your character is heavily armoured and slow, or light and quick. Weapons are independently slow and quick too.

From the article posted by addyb it sounded like the builds made little difference. Hopefully that's one persons (wrong) opinion.

Not too sure, but the developer responded to that kind of feedback with the video explaining how it actually works. The heavy set definitely moves different to when he changed his character to a lighter set.

Well like anything else I'll play it with my own hands before passing judgement. I personally think it looks great and demons souls at times had a bad camera and ninjas gaiden was slated for it but it really didn't effect my enjoyment of them. The dev video explained a lot. I think it shows a lot of promise and to be honest even if it's only a quarter as good as the epicness that are the souls games then I'll be happy :)

I think with a game like this when people do previews you've got to be mindful of who is doing it. I mean personally, I know more than a few people who have picked up Dark Souls, played 10 minutes, turned it off and gone "Thats garbage" And its purely because its too hard for them, they dont see the point or they plain just don't get it.

I've seen enough of this game in streams etc to think it will turn out to be ok. If a slightly wonky camera and "unfair" battles are the biggest worries this game has got then it will turn out to be decent.

Having said that, I cannot think of a more blatant rip off of another title since I played Giana Sisters way back in the late 80s! Its criminal really how much this is a rip off of Dark Souls. But i'll probably still buy it. Will scratch the masochistic itch until Bloodborne anyway.

I don't see a problem with this - the more Dark Souls clone type games come out the better for me.

I was the same before I watched that dev video. To me it looked like one movement speed all the way through. As above the more games of this type the better for me. It could spend years just playing dark souls clones lol

Going to have to stop watching streams of this. I've been chatting with another lad elsewhere who got this early and he's a big souls fan. He says it plays pretty much like souls. Control layout is nigh on identical and the flow of the combat feels the same. He's really enjoying it so far.

Can't wait myself :) A perfect fix before bloodborne

    Negatives time.

Seems that its only 15 hours long and the entire game is just set in a giant castle. Both these don't bother me too much as long as the combat is solid. Looking forward to it anyway. Really enjoyed my last 2 purchases (mordor & evil within) and by what I've seen so far this looks pretty good. Sure it won't be as good as the souls games but for me nothing reaches that level anyway. Maybe bloodborne will :)

There's 2 game+ modes, so supports 3 play throughs with certain areas unlocked later on, so potentially 45+ hours to 100% if the replayability is there.

I watched a vid where the guy's Priest got a left-handed glove which let him pew-pew magic bolts. As i normally play mages in these thing, it's good to see there are non-melee options :smashin:

Square Enix has just, at the last minute, confirmed that the UK release of Lords of the Fallen has been brought forward to tomorrow, 28th October.

The game had previously been due to be released on Friday, 31st October. It's a good job our stock is here already so we're just charging and despatching orders now ... http://buff.ly/1t8P811

I'm new here; but would it be too impolite to ask for your thoughts once you have a chance?

I just hope they aren't rushing release to avoid bad reviews or something...

Reading that it looks like there is a bit of replay value in it.

I've decided to stop rushing through my games in order for the next one.
I'm enjoying shadow of mordor and will take my time, likewise lords of the fallen and then evil within and alien.

Yeah I'm halfway through evil within but knew I wouldn't finish it in time for this and like you say I didn't want to rush it. I'll just take a breather from that for a while and see what this is like.

This is sounding what I was hoping Bound by Flame to be, a half decent RPG with a good combat system, early indications suggest it could be a lot more than that.

I've chatted with about 8 different streamers now and they generally all had the same pros and cons about it.

    Pros

    Great combat
    Nice visuals and audio
Big selection of weapons and armour
    Good boss battles
    Plenty of secret routes
    Replayability factor

    The cons

Performance issues with tearing and frame rate dips (day one patch supposed to make this better)
Unengaging story and bad voice acting
World layout can be confusing which leads to getting lost.
Boss fights can be too lengthy
    Some say it's too easy.

Well I've caved in and preordered.

I quite like the sound of it and if half as good as the Dark Souls games, that will do for me :)

To be honest I'd like more games of this ilk. We have loads of shooters and driving games etc but not many DS clones. Sure this may not match up to DS well for me anyway but it looks damn fun and that's all I want. I've just started a new game on DSII as well on my laptop as I need a killing fix in prep for tomorrow. LOTF is supposed to be anything from 12 - 25 hours long depending on your skill and how much you explore, side missions etc. It has NG+ and NG++ as extra skill trees open up on a 2nd play through. I can honestly say I'm looking forward to this more than I was my last few purchases (mordor, DC and evil within)
