Have you seen how many times they're going to release LOTR on DVD? First a basic release in the Summer, then in November a two-disc set with theatrical release and extras, then a four-disc release with the same two discs, plus a director's cut and some more extras...

Money grubbing toerags, knowing full well those obsessed legions of fans will want all three releases. They'll probably package them all totally differently to maximise appeal.

It's appalling. The trilogy is starting to resemble that other trilogies tactician but in a digital form. For the latter, God knows how Lucas will screw ppl about after his vhs fiasco of rip offs.

    Which boxset?

The boxset of ordinary releases? The boxset of special editions? Or the boxset of boxsets of special editions and the directors cut?

Or the boxset of everything above?

But wait you forgot to mention the different releases from different regions. Once you think you know which Edition to get on R1 a slightly different variation will be released on R2 and totally confuse's you. This is what has happened to RoboCop. I'm still no nearer buying that film as I was before I even had a DVD player. And there's still a new version to come. But when the LOTR's first come's out ill buy that version, as I just cant be bothered to wait. I guess you can put me down as victim number 1 of the Multi Release Rip Off Scandle.

    The answer is simple (Maybe)

Just buy the movie when you want it and sell it on EBAY a month before the new edition is released.

I've sold disks for more than I bought them new before.

that way you get to experience the movie again as soon as it is released but are not out of pocket for buying the later 'better' releases.
