I ordered all 3 of The Lord of The Rings Extended Gift Sets from DVDsoon. When I ordered them it indicated that they were all in stock, now I check & they say On Order. Now I know that DVDsoon have garnered a crappy rep of late, how likely will it be before I recieve these & has anyone else ordered them??

Try sending them an email, it may speed things up. When I pre-ordered 12 monkeys, it went from pre-order to on-order upon release date so I was well miffed, but when I emailed them they sent me an email saying I would be waiting 2 - 4 weeks and then 2 days later I get a dispatch email

You will probaley be waiting a few weeks or even months, they list alot of titles as instock but once they have your money expect a long wait, I have only just had my copy of Spaceballs shipped and it was released nearly 3 weeks ago, thought they were good with new titles but guess not.

DVDsoon have really gone t*ts up  They used to be really good. I've not used them for ages, as there are better DVD retailers on the net now, I only bought these cause they were below Custom's amount & they are pretty rare. I've emailed them 4-5 times & not one reply? Why have they suddenly turned into a rubbish company?

Could you please be aware that this is a dvd bargain forum, not a bitch at dvdsoon.com forum. If you want to do that go and use the other dvd suppliers.topics forum!.

Dvd soon rock in my opinion, bought lots of films lately, for £2.30- £5 each, including shipping from Canada, I also ordered the LOTR fellowship set, and am willing to wait upto a month for it, as it`s so damn cheap :smashin:

Also got the godfather boxset for about £12 when it was cheap last week, it was sent two days ago.

Just my positive input in the thread

    Spoony.

dvdsoon have never been a quick retailer, and i find it hard to believe anyone who orders dvds from them based on info from these forums wouldn't realise that was the case, since its hard to go a day without seeing it mentioned at least a couple of times.

there's a simple way to look at things. if you want your dvd next week, order it from play.com or cd-wow and pay £5 or more for the privelige. If you want your dvd cheap, order it from dvdsoon and have some patience.

I do however agree with partyweb's comments as they back up comments i made on another thread. if you've been waiting longer than you can handle, email them and ask them when they're likely to ship the dvd's and you might well find they get shipped within a few days of the email.

    :thumbsdow

My moan was that when I placed my order & paid £50 for all 3 sets, they were all in stock, then later on they are no On Order  :thumbsdow I've mailed them several times & no replies yet. I've been using DVDsoon for 4 years & they have gradually gotten worse. Sorry

£50 for the 3 gift sets isn't a bad price, aren't they generally over 30 quid each?

But with HiDef looming I think I'll make do with the 2 discers for now. Buy the lot on a 2 disc set in a year or two...PJ ;)

Just hope they go through with the order  :lesson:

I just logged into my DVDSoon account to check out the progress on my LOTR Collectors box sets (I ordered them as soon as the price went cheap)... guess what the order has been deleted and my account credited.

I did not get any emails about this from DVD Soon! VERY annoyed as I sold my Region 2 boxsets (I only had the last two so thought I would take the chance to get all three) meaning I now have none!

Has anyone actually got these or still have their order (i.e. it has not been deleted)????

Sorry pal, I received all 3 of mine. I must admit I was dubious about whether they would see the deal through, but fair play to DVDsoon, they delivered them all by UPS for £50

DVDsoon. When did you order yours?

Like you I placed my order straight away. They took a while, but then within 1 week they shipped the lot :smashin: I notice that the shipping has been reinstated again. Luckily I got my pre orders of Trauma & Just Before Dawn in for £7.00 each  :smashin:

I ordered mine straight away as well - when they were showing as in stock!

I am extremely angry and gutted! I only sold my R2 LOTR2&3 Collectors sets as I was getting new ones (I only had LOTR1 on Extended edition which is why I wanted the upgrade)... now I have none and will be out of pocket big-time if I buy them again.

I only just covered my £50 costs selling them on ebay (got about £60 in total) and if I buy them again they will probably all cost £40 each includign postage (£120 total - meaning I will LOSE about £60). That assumes I will get my money back from DVD Soon which no surprise they charged my credit card straight away when the order was placed.

I am awaiting a reply to a suitably angry email at the moment!

Well they have now replied and said that my order was cancelled because the DVDs they received were faulty. They have now refunded me which I did not want (plus $30 compensation). I have asked them why I could not have had the next set of DVDs that came into stock (they are still selling them and advertising them as in stock on their website)... surprise surprise no response!

    WELL angry!
