I agree it is a good film, a bit gruesome in parts, I.M.H.O. it is better than Nightbreed and Hellraiser 2+. I have it on video.
If you havent seen it your in for a treat if you like that sort of film.
I agree... excellent film. Not sure if this is the director's cut version, but it has some very creepy scenes that were cut from the theatrical release.
Originally posted by DazJWood It is advertised on Play.com for £7.99 and I have seen this film before in Blockbusters and wondered if it was any good???
It's worth a rental but at £7.99 you might as well buy it then sell it on for pretty much the same amount on eBay. You may well find you get more than you pay for it (this is currently happening with titles like 'The Thing' from Play).
As far as the film goes... sorry, although *looking* slightly better made than Hellraiser: Hellbound and Nightbreed, it is just not as enjoyable a film as either of those two.
Unfortunately anything with Scott Bakula in it is going to be pretty sub-standard (and that includes whatever varient of Star Trek is currently 'gracing' our screens).
Lord of Illusions is an excellent film. Sure, it's slow paced, but it's still oozing with Clive Barker "coolness."
I'm not a fan of Bakula per se, but I think he does a great job of conveying Harry D'Amour to the big screen. I'm not a huge fan of the Hellraiser series, but I'd rank this right up there with Nightbreed. (one of my favs)
