Looking to upgrade Sony KDL46W-905a

Hi,

I’ve have a Sony KDL46W-905a which I’ve owned for around 8 years.

I’m looking to upgrade to a similar quality 48” max size screen.

I use the TV for general viewing, so no gaming and not really a film buff.

I did have a look at the LG OLED TV’s which seemed good value at circa £1000. I have a budget of up to £1500.

I watch everything through SKY via HDMI if that makes any difference.

One of the 48" OLEDs is fine, the C1 seems to be most popular.

Since your size restricted its best avoiding LCD TVs unless you have a particular preference for one. They have cut down specs at smaller sizes compared to larger.

Thank you for the response. I’m glad you mentioned the LG C1. I looked at the 48C1 at John Lewis for just over £1000.
I’m not very TV literate, but would I notice a better quality picture difference from my current Sony ? I assume the technology has changed greatly from when I bought the Sony.

There will be a big difference, especially with HDR material.
