Looking to change my AV amp any ideas

Standard Member
I have a Cambridge audio 540R V3 at the moment

I have noticed over the years sometimes music will crackle on this at certain parts
i have also seen another person saying the same

I am looking for a upgrade to this with a lower power usage, the CA one is meant to hit 800 watts
when in use so I really want one that is more easy on the bills AND i would like built in digital radio

I will be using it on a normal 1080p TV and pc to play MKV I am not going in all this 4k stuff it it makes any difference.

would say about £300 to 350 would be my max

my current speakers are mordaunt short avant

You current amp will no way on earth even output 800 watss!

Your budget would make the Yamaha RXV675 or a Denon AVRX2000 attainable and I think either of these would be the best bet given your speakers and their associated timbre.

Denon AVRX2000 Networked 3D Ready Home Cinema Receiver with Airplay & 4K Upscaling - Superfi

I'd ideally suggest the Yamaha RXV1073 as being a better option, but one which will cost you about £450.
