Looking To Buy An HDD Camcorder, Budget £400 - Any Advice Please

I am looking to purchase a new Camcorder for mainly filming my daughter growing up. Am thinking mainly about an HDD Camcorder and have been looking at the Sony's.

Would like it to be reasonably compact so it can fit in to my current SLR Bag.

Any advice out there as to which brands/models are worth a punt on ???

Can you up the budget to £500? That just about gets you a high def Sony SR10, which is very good value. £400 leaves you looking at standard def models, which I just can't get very excited about.

Cheapest price on pricerunner UK as of now is £513. You may be able to find it cheaper.
