It would help if you knew what you can expect before you ask. Vodafone sales (08000 686570) can offer half price line rental for 15 out of 18 months if you phone them direct (don't expect to be offered it if you don't ask for it). Whatever you spend in total line rental over 18 months is also what you can spend on a handset. If you aren't happy with Vodafone regardless just phone the other networks (never go in the stores) and tell them that is what you have been offered and invite them to beat it.

I know that the sales staff at Vodafone (telephone only) can offer those terms to new and old customers - until the end of the month at least. A friend of mine just got a £50 tariff for £25 a month (first 15 of 18 months) with a free SE C902 and free delivery. You certainly won't see this advertised by them though, or indeed get offered it if you don't ask for it.
