...of rear speakers.

Just got my first ever DVD player and my telly has a built in DD5.1 decoder. I have watched some cracking DVD's that utilise the back speakers to great effect but am looking for a good horror film that will scare the pants of my girlfriend (literally I hope).

    look forward to your recommendations

    Cheers

    Paul.

    How do you like em?
Are you easily pleased like me? Or are you a critic and demand more?
Click on my link to My DVD's below and see what I've got.

Personally I like Deep Blue Sea. Stir of Echoes. What Lies Beneath for starters.

    Enjoy.

How about The Haunting. Not the best film i've seen, but there's good use of the surrounds.

What about Alien or the Thing, or even The Exorcist, but if you just wan't lots of rear speaker effects U571 is quite good.
Also I remember a film called Hardware that was
quite jumpy, but I don't know if it is on DVD yet
It was advertised as "Terminator for the ninetees"

Hardware? Nah, it's on my "most wanted" list along with Richard Stanley's follow up, Dust Devil, but sadly no DVDs available yet. I keep hoping, although the cheap 4Front vhs of Hardware is in widescreen and the surround track is suprisingly active (no replacement for a nice shiny disc though) so it's plugging a gap til someone releases the disc. If ever.

Hardware. Got heavily cut for it's US release, uncut in the UK.

Had William Hootkins (Porkins eject!) singing about "the wibbly wobbly walk....."

    Had a good soundtrack.

Dust Devil starred the guy who was in Robocop 3 (mind goes blank). Filmed in Niarobi, or somewhere were there is lots of iron oxide in the soil. Lot's of red, if I remember rightly. Had also Zakes Mokae and Bill Hootkins yet again.

    Nice shotgun finale.

That's about all I can remember
